Although the HTC Vive Pro has been around for a while now (nearly as long as my naff flamingo shirt), I didn't get around to buying one until a few weeks ago, so I thought I'd share my first impressions of this VR headset.
Most of the comparisons I draw here are in reference to the original HTC Vive, which I have owned and used extensively for a few years now. If you're looking for a new VR experience, and just want the pros and cons of the Vive Pro, here's my take:
PROS
Very easy to set up
Older hardware with a decent graphics card can run it
Very comfortable, even with glasses
Well designed built in audio, easily removed too
Excellent light sealing
Improved lens distance adjustment
Higher resolution AMOLED displays
Solid, very polished product all round
CONS
Hard strap might cause problems with some headsets
Peripheral blurriness just like original Vive
Expensive as hell
